Research at WIT
WIT has a number of Applied Research Centres in the areas of Telecommunications, Applied Materials, Pharmaceutical & Molecular Biotechnology and Eco-Innovation
The Office of the Head of Research & Innovation supports the development and delivery of the Institute's Research & Knowledge Strategy. This office manages all aspects of externally funded research at the Institute, and provides information on areas of expertise, information on published work and consultancy work undertaken. The Office is also responsible for the development of research alliances and collaborations with industry and other external organisations in addition to managing the commercialisation of research.
ArcLabs serves as a one-stop-shop for small businesses in the south-east region, and beyond, who wish to access the resources that the Institute offer to industry. We have worked with over 150 small firms and organisations which have utilised the services available within WIT to develop and strengthen their businesses.
WIT has a number of Applied Research Centres in the areas of Telecommunications, Applied Materials, Pharmaceutical & Molecular Biotechnology and Eco-Innovation. The Applied Research Centres have the resources and capability required to turn research in the science, engineering and technology arena into commercial benefits for the Regional economy in particular, and as a consequence, Ireland’s national economy will also benefit.
WIT's Technology Transfer Office forms part of the Institute’s core infrastructure supporting research and innovation. Emanating from the increase in research investment and commercialisation activity, WIT secured funding from Enterprise Ireland for the development of this Technology Transfer Office. This component will strengthen the technology transfer resources and expertise available to WIT researchers and industry collaborators.
