The BIM Collective Research Group at WIT have taken the lead in helping architects, construction engineers and product designers to realise the potential of Building Information Systems technology. At a recent BIM Showcase forum, WIT staff along with industry experts and practitioners confirmed the need for Irish companies to understand and adopt BIM as a means of developing and maintaining competitiveness. As a result, WIT and CITA have launched an initiative, comprising training, information events and consultancy services.
Training – ‘Revit Essentials’ course
Commencing on Wednesday 12th March, the 8-week Revit Essentials course will be held on Wednesday evenings (6.30-9.30pm), at WIT's main campus. The cost is €450. If you would like to find out more including how to register please email firstname.lastname@example.org
CITA ‘BIM2WIN’ event
At the Tower Hotel on Friday 7th March. This event will include presentations by Ralph Montague from Arcdox and the CITA LinkedIn Group as well as professionals based in the South-East who are using BIM. Registration is available here.
Consultancy – Enterprise Ireland's Innovation Voucher scheme,
WIT is the premier service provider within EI's Innovation Vouchers programme. The BIM Collective Research team is working with many of the leading construction services firms around the country on a range of consultancy projects which are funded through this scheme.The next call for Innovation Vouchers will be open from Wed 19th March to Wed 26th March and the BIM team would be delighted to companies develop their applications.

TSSG Spin-out FeedHenry Ltd. wins ITLG/Digicel Mobile Essential AwardJanuary 31 2014
ITLG’s Silicon Valley Global Technology Forum took place last week in Limerick, City of Culture 2014. The event was attended, over two-days, by world leaders in technology, innovation and science. Michael D Higgins, President of Ireland opened the event by saying ‘Ideas matter; conversations around ideas fuel the development of science and innovation; and the outworking of good ideas make a positive impact on the efficiency of our economy and quality of our society.’
A networking gala dinner and awards ceremony concluded the event on Tuesday evening, 28th January. TSSG Spinout FeedHenry Ltd.’ was announced as the winner of this year’s ‘ITLG/ Digicel Mobile Essential Award’, adding to the collection of awards already received by the company. Barry Downes, Founder of FeedHenry and TSSG CEO attended the event and said “I am delighted to congratulate Cathal McGloin, CEO FeedHenry, Micheal O Foghlu, CTO, Elaine Fennelly, CFO and all the FeedHenry team on winning this prestigious ITLG/Digicel award”.
FeedHenry spun-out from TSSG in 2010, completed a Series A round of financing for $9 million in 2013 and now has offices in Waterford, Dublin, London and Boston. FeedHenry plans to grow to 140 staff by the end of 2014 with most the staff being employed in Waterford, Ireland.

Sedicci named as Finalist for 2013 ESB Spark of Genius AwardOctober 14 2013
Sedicci is amongst the (almost) 30 finalists in the ESB Spark of Genius Award which will take place at the Dublin Web Summit in just under three weeks.
The competition, which is now in its fourth year, focuses on the most promising high potential Irish start-ups.
Two rounds of pitching will take place and the grand final will play out on the Main Stage at the Dublin Web Summit, in front of an audience of thousands of leading international start-ups and technology investors.
