By leveraging the research and innovation expertise of Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), ArcLabs helps entrepreneurs and start-up businesses to achieve success in national and international markets. The centre was established by Waterford Institute of Technology in 2005 and is based at the 150-acre West Campus in Carriganore in a woodland setting on the banks of the River Suir, just a few minutes from the outer ring road. This magnificent setting helps ArcLabs' companies to attract customers, staff and investment. ArcLabs is the base for WIT's Centre for Entrepreneurship which promotes, supports and develops entrepreneurship programmes and research. The Centre delivers the South East Enterprise Platform Programme (SEEPP) which supports entrepreneurs involved in knowledge-based start-ups. One of Ireland’s largest and most successful Information Communications Technology (ICT) research centres, TSSG, is headquartered in ArcLabs. The TSSG employs over 150 highly skilled researchers and developers and has attracted over €55 million in research programmes since its inception in 1996, funding over 115 research projects and awards. The TSSG the most successful Irish research centre in the EU Framework Programmes 6 and 7, and its extensive links to over 150 international industrial and academic partners provides an unrivaled resource for companies based in ArcLabs to potentially exploit.
